our teaching team

Gbontwi Anyetei

Bookwriting

Gbontwi Anyetei is originally from Ghana, but spent his early years in Nigeria, Botswana and Zimbabwe, before growing up in London.

All Gbontwi’s writing and productions are infused with a fusion of African and international humour, references and influences. He is very eclectic in the kind of writing he does and it allows him distance, fresh approach and to focus on different elements to his personality and ability when writing a novel in contrast to a screenplay.

Antonia Doggett

Acting

Antonia took a degree in Fine Art at Goldsmith’s College, specialising in performance art. She went on to perform with Mkultra and remained a collaborator performing in London and Europe for 3 years. She left the company in 2004 to take a practical MA in Poland under Teatr Piesn Kozla (Song of the Goat Theatre), which involved intensive training in actors techniques developed by the company. After graduating Antonia spent several seasons observing Stathis Livathinos’ work with the National Theatre of Greece.

Debo Oluwatumininu

Scriptwriting

Debo is a poet, writer, director, facilitator and collaborator. His recent play Iyalode of Eti, a pre-colonial reimagining of John Webster’s the Duchess of Malfi, had its world premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2016. Described as “… an intelligent, inventive and surprisingly faithful take on Malfi.” (Peter Kirwan, Exeunt Magazine), the play went on to feature at Sheffield Theatres Studio and Cast in Doncaster.
